NOAH WYLE DROPS BOMBSHELL: Fan-Favorite Supriya Ganesh BRUTALLY AXED From ‘The Pitt’ After Season 2 – “We’re Going to Miss Her!”

‘The Pitt’: Supriya Ganesh Exits Series As Dr. Mohan; Ayesha Harris Promoted To Series Regular For Season 3

Supriya Ganesh exits 'The Pitt'; Ayesha Harris now series regular

HBO Max’s critically acclaimed medical drama The Pitt will look a bit different when Season 3 premieres in 2027.

Supriya Ganesh will not return as Dr. Samira Mohan, the character she’s played since Season 1. This should come as no surprise to fans watching Season 2, as Mohan has really struggled with finding the balance between her personal life and her work, as well as figuring out what her future as a medical professional will look like.

She has been undecided about what her focus should be, with Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle) at one point suggesting she might be good in geriatrics. While Mohan wasn’t against the idea, she really was lost for most of the season, and it’s probably best that she figures out where and what she would thrive doing that would benefit the most from her specialties. At least one thing was abundantly clear this season: she needs a break from the emergency room.

The Pitt's Noah Wyle and Show Creator Explain Supriya Ganesh Exit

Since the series mirrors the experience of doctors, nurses, and students within a teaching hospital, a revolving door of staff is a natural occurrence. After Season 1, Tracy Ifeachor exited the series in which she played Dr. Heather Collins. Her storyline was concluded early in Season 2, with the character’s absence explained by confirming Collins had finished up her residency and moved to Portland, where she took the job of attending physician at a new hospital. She had also just applied to adopt a baby.

In additional casting news, Ayesha Harris has been promoted to series regular for Season 3. Harris plays Dr. Parker Ellis on The Pitt, a night shift resident. So far, she has appeared in two episodes of Season 1 and two episodes of Season 2.

Her additional credits include a recurring role in the Prime Video miniseries Daisy Jones and the Six, opposite Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, and Suki Waterhouse. Also in 2023, Harris starred alongside Kim Cattrall and Miss Benny in Netflix’s queer drama-comedy Glamorous. Other television credits include This Is UsL Word: Generation QAbbott Elementary and Good Girls.
