‘THE LAKERS MIGHT WIN BIG WITHOUT EVER LANDING GIANNIS.’ A Massive Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade Scenario Could Unexpectedly Hand Los Angeles the Frontcourt Upgrade It Desperately Needs. As blockbuster rumors continue swirling around the Bucks superstar, one surprising ripple effect is suddenly generating just as much buzz as the deal itself.

The Lakers are reportedly discussing a multi-team trade with Milwaukee and Detroit that could send Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami

The Lakers have emerged as participants in negotiations with Milwaukee and Detroit over a possible three-team trade framework centered around sending Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Heat.

The Milwaukee Bucks are widely expected to do everything possible to retain franchise cornerstone Giannis Antetokounmpo. Reportedly, Milwaukee might pursue a blockbuster move for an established star to convince Giannis to remain with the organization. Despite those expectations, speculation surrounding Antetokounmpo’s long-term future in Milwaukee continues to intensify, with new reports surfacing almost daily.

NBA insider Anthony F. Irwin recently reported that the Los Angeles Lakers have been engaged in discussions with both the Bucks and Detroit Pistons regarding a potential multi-team trade framework that could ultimately land Giannis with the Miami Heat. Irwin also noted that Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart has repeatedly emerged as a player linked to the Lakers in those conversations.

“Sources: The Lakers have been in contact with the Bucks and Pistons as a part of a potential multi-team deal that could send Giannis to Miami. Isaiah Stewart is a name that keeps coming up in connection with the Lakers,” Irwin wrote on X.

The Bucks have reportedly established an “unrealistic” asking price for Antetokounmpo. As a result, a direct trade between Milwaukee and Miami would be extremely challenging to complete. Hence, they need help from other teams to make the deal successful.

Bobby Marks Believes Miami Holds the Strongest Trade Package for Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Heat continue to stand out as one of the most serious contenders for Giannis Antetokounmpo. During an appearance on SportsCenter, ESPN analyst Bobby Marks explained why he believes Miami currently possesses the most attractive trade package available for the Bucks.

“I’m still in the belief it’s Miami because when you look at Giannis—it’s the superstar checklist of 3 things that Miami has here. It’s a win-now player like Tyler Herro. Then you look at young players like Kel’el Ware and Jaime Jaquez Jr. Miami got the 13th pick in the draft—they can send two future picks in 2030 and 2032; they’ve got swap rights, so I think Miami got the best package right now,” Marks said.

This past season, Pat Riley’s team missed the postseason for the first time since 2019. Hence, the Heat front office is ready to make major roster changes around franchise centerpiece Bam Adebayo. Given Miami’s urgency to return to contention and the assets available at its disposal, Antetokounmpo landing with the Heat remains one of the most realistic scenarios if he ultimately decides to leave Milwaukee.
