Adam Lambert spoke out against the homophobic comments that were directed at his boyfriend, Oliver Gliese, after they enjoyed a night out in West Hollywood on Friday.
The 41-year-old singer posted a lengthy message on his Instagram Story on Saturday evening to express his thoughts about the harsh online reaction to the photos from their outing.
The American Idol runner-up, who recently spoke about the type of music he would never perform, began by expressing that, although he enjoyed his time with his boyfriend, he was unnerved by the reaction to the photos.
Lambert wrote that ‘Oli and I had a fun night out! Rare to encounter paps in WEHO – so retro. Haha. Lifts my spirits to see support in the comments. Also appalled to see the obnoxious homophobia and ignorance plaguing people rn.’
The hitmaker went on to express why exactly he was so attracted to his partner.

He wrote: ‘Oli identifies as a he. he has wicked style and refuses to conform to the societal norms regarding his fashion choices. He is beautiful and brave and daring. He’s a leader not a follower. One of the many things i love about him!’
Lambert then wrote that he was completely uninterested in dealing with homophobic and immature comments.
‘We are very happy together and if the haters don’t like it, we don’t really give a f***. Grow up and challenge yourself to explore tolerance. We are all just trying to stay happy and fulfilled with our lives,’ he wrote.
The performer concluded by offering his honest opinion about the individuals that had been posting the homophobic comments.
‘Chances are, if you’re busy trolling us online, you’re miserable in your own life and can’t deal w your issues,’ he wrote.
Oliver also took to his Instagram to condemn the ‘bigots.’ He then thanked the fans that showed him support.
Lambert and Gliese, 28, were initially linked in 2020 after taking a PDA-filled trip to Mexico.
The hitmaker was previously in a relationship with Sauli Koskinen that ended in 2013, although the two remained on friendly terms.
The performer was subsequently linked to Javi Costa Polo for several months in 2019.

Lambert spoke about his relationship with Gliese during an interview with People, where he discussed the qualities he valued in his partner.
‘We’re really good at communicating. I think that is the key to a healthy relationship. Every couple runs into disagreements or misunderstandings, but if you can sit down and talk it out, that’s the best. We have that, and I’m really thankful for it,’ he said.
The performer also spoke about experiencing homophobic abuse after photos of him kissing a man were published during the early stage of his career.
The performer expressed that, although he was unnerved by the situation at first, iIt made me stronger and informed the kind of art that I wanted to make.’
