‘I WON’T BE SILENCED’: Stephen A. Smith Fires Back After Being Accused of Political Bias Over Knicks NBA Finals Comments, Igniting Heated Debate Across Sports Media as Critics and Fans Clash Over His On-Air Remarks

Stephen A. Smith Fires Back After Being Accused of Political Bias Over Knicks Finals Comments

Stephen A. Smith sparked controversy after urging Donald Trump not to attend the Knicks’ NBA Finals game, then swiftly fired back at accusations of political bias.

Does Stephen A. Smith not like Donald Trump? Always known to be getting involved in controversies, the NBA analyst has run himself into a fresh one. While he requested that the US President avoid attending the NBA finals, a storm of backlash followed. However, the veteran analyst immediately lashed out and clarified his stance.

Following the Knicks’ Game 2 victory, the POTUS, a known Knicks supporter, pledged to watch the game live at Madison Square Garden. In reply, Smith requested that the President not attend the game in person.

Fans quickly lashed out, saying, “Stephen A. Smith doesn’t want President Trump to show up to the Knicks game but has no problem with Commie Mamdani taking the city over. What a clown.”

Well, the 58-year-old did not take long to hit back. Explaining his stance, the US television personality wrote, “Grow the Hell up! I have a problem with any politician — any politician — that shows up, causes delays and interferes with these watch parties buzzing all over NYC. It’s not political. It’s about the @nyknicks and the vibe this city has going.”

At the moment, New York is buzzing. And as the NBA caravan comes to Madison Square Garden, things will become even more frantic. Long queues and traffic congestion are already being anticipated. Thus, as per Smith, a VIP’s arrival of Trump’s stature might cause further disruption.

Meanwhile, in addition to trying to safeguard the city’s vibe, Smith also issued a warning to the San Antonio Spurs.

Stephen A. Smith Warns Spurs About an Aggressive New York Crowd

The Knicks boast one of the most intense and passionate fan bases in the league. This was evident multiple times in the postseason when the fans took over the opponent’s stadiums. Thus, the analyst opined that a young team such as the Spurs might find it hard to adjust to all the aggressive chanting.

We’ve seen veterans fold at the Garden. What am I supposed to believe about youthful, exuberant, ignorant young dudes? They don’t know what they’re about to encounter,” the 58-year-old said.

Thus, with things looking gloomy, everything points towards yet another Knicks dominance. However, a hard-working talent like Victor Wembanyama would not give up the battle so easily.
