CAPE VERDE cult hero Vozinha was cheered on by his proud mum after the US Government stepped in to help make her World Cup dream come true.
The goalkeeper’s mother, Ana Candida Evora, was spotted in the stands during Cape Verde‘s clash with Uruguay after finally being granted permission to travel to the tournament.
It was an emotional moment for the family after Vozinha revealed earlier this week that she had been unable to attend because of Visa complications and the huge costs involved. But that situation has now changed.
The 39-year-old shot-stopper, whose real name is Josimar Diaz, has become one of the biggest stories of the World Cup after his incredible performance against Spain on Match Day One.
Vozinha produced SEVEN saves during Cape Verde’s goalless draw with the reigning European champions as the Blue Sharks produced one of the biggest shocks in World Cup history.
