Theo James has dropped a fresh update on the next chapter of Netflix’s crime hit, The Gentlemen, confirming progress on Season 2. With filming done and post-production underway, fans now have a clearer idea of when the show returns.

The Gentlemen Season 2’s Current Status Revealed for Guy Ritchie Series

Theo James revealed that Season 2 has officially wrapped filming and is now being edited. He shared that the release is planned for fall 2026, adding that the tone will shift slightly this time. “We’ve done it, we’ve wrapped season 2. Doing a cut at the moment. There’s still tweaks to be done but it will be in the fall, coming out. It’s fun. It’s still funny, but it’s darker. Goes a little wild,” he said, hinting at a more intense storyline (via @jasvalentine/TikTok).

The series, created by Guy Ritchie, was renewed back in August 2024 after Season 1 earned solid reviews, including a 75% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Production for the second season began in spring 2025 and was concluded by October, moving quickly into post-production.

Season 2 will continue Eddie and Susie’s story, but on a bigger scale. Ritchie confirmed the plot expands beyond the English countryside, reaching locations like the Italian lakes. He also teased higher stakes, saying, “Eddie and Susie find themselves navigating an increasingly volatile empire as they’re besieged on all fronts by an influx of enigmatic new players” (via Netflix Tudum).

Returning cast members include the likes of Kaya Scodelario and Daniel Ings, along with several familiar faces from Season 1. At the same time, the show is bringing in new names like Hugh Bonneville, Michele Morrone, and Maya Jama, adding fresh energy to the ensemble. James previously said in an interview that a strong story is key for a sequel to work, noting that simply repeating the same style wouldn’t be enough.

With a darker tone, expanded setting, and larger cast, Season 2 looks set to build on the first installment’s success while taking bigger creative risks. Fans can expect the show to arrive on Netflix sometime this year.
