Quite a few New York Knicks fans tracked down where the Spurs are staying and heckled Victor Wembanyama with a ton of not-safe-from-work words when they saw him walk outside.
There was madness outside Madison Square Garden after Game 3, caused by New York Knicks fans. It happened because the Knicks had a chance to take a 3-0 lead but lost the game. Now, they tracked down where Victor Wembanyama had stayed in NY and heckled him there.
Truth be told, Knicks fans were bitter about how the last game ended. There were some questionable no-calls involving Wemby. Plus, the young Spurs star is quickly embracing a villain persona against the city. That’s why it’s unsurprising that some fans showed up in front of the Spurs hotel and went on to hurl expletives toward Victor Wembanyama.
“F*** you, Wemby!” a fan said. Another fan blurted, “KAT owns you! You soft a** bit**!”
While we all know that Knicks fans are one of the most passionate fan bases in basketball, they have become extremely rowdy, especially in this year’s playoffs. After Game 3, some even targeted people who wore Spurs jerseys walking outside MSG.
Victor Wembanyama Nearing Trae Young Level Hate Inside MSG
Trae Young is a hated man in New York. He’s like the second reincarnation of Pacers great and former Knicks tormentor Reggie Miller. However, with Wemby showing out in Game 3, Knicks fans are slowly shifting their focus to who to hate. Is Victor Wembanyama bothered by being the most hated man in New York City? He isn’t, and he dropped a subtle shot to Knicks fans a few days ago.
“I guess I’m nowhere near Trae Young’s level,” Victor Wembanyama said.
That’s another way to draw the ire of Knicks fans. It doesn’t take much to irritate them. If the San Antonio Spurs win another game in the Garden, then expect Wemby to take over Trae Young’s unofficial mantle of being the most hated man in New York. After all, he’s quickly getting there.
